History:

  • Saline was first settled in 1824 by Orange Risdon, a military surveyor who purchased a 160 acre parcel and named the town.
  • The name was derived from the salt springs found in what became known as the Saline River.
  • Incorporated as a village in 1866, Saline later became a city in 1931.
