Charles Baxter:
An English professor at the University of Michigan, Charles Baxter has earned many awards for his work. He has written novels, short stories, poems, and essays on both fiction and memory. He and his family live in Ann Arbor. His 3 novels are:

Loren Estleman:
A graduate of Eastern Michigan University, Whitmore Lake's Loren Estleman is an incredibly prolific writer. Author of 50 books and hundreds of stories and articles, he has earned awards for both his mysteries and his westerns. Some of his most recent works include:

Tom Grace:
Architect Tom Grace is a graduate of the University of Michigan who has made a name for himself writing industrial-spy thrillers. He and his family live in Dexter. His third novel about ex-Navy SEAL Nolan Kilkenny was recently published.

Craig Holden:
Also a resident of Dexter, Craig Holden writes in an office in Ann Arbor and teaches at his alma mater, the University of Toledo. His books have achieved both critical acclaim and bestseller status. As he says on his web site, he writes about "where the novel of suspense meets the study of character."

Other Fiction:
Although perhaps not as popular nationally, authors like Jerry Prescott and Susan Holtzer have a strong local following, due in part to the Ann Arbor setting for many of their tales. Ms. Holtzer may have moved on to San Francisco, but the main character in her series, Anneke Haagen, still works here in Ann Arbor. Recent titles by these authors include:
